Expert support for you and your child.
Parenting a child who is struggling emotionally or behaviorally is one of the hardest things a family can face. Whether your child is dealing with anxiety that makes it difficult to leave the house, OCD that disrupts daily routines, challenges related to autism or ADHD, or an eating disorder, you do not have to navigate this alone.
At Wellness Associates, we work with children (ages 4+), adolescents, and their families from our White Plains office, serving Scarsdale, Chappaqua, Rye, and communities throughout Westchester County. We believe parents are an important part of treatment.
How We Support Your Child
We provide specialized therapy for children and adolescents, as well as neuroaffirming care for those with profiles that call for a different kind of support. Our areas of focus include:
Family therapy may be incorporated as part of your child's individual treatment when clinically appropriate.
Our approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and a range of other evidence-based methods. Treatment is always collaborative and individualized. We work with you and your child to develop a plan that fits your family's unique situation and goals.
The Role Parents Play in Treatment
At Wellness Associates, we believe parents are experts on their own children. That's why we actively involve caregivers in the therapeutic process. Depending on your child's needs and treatment plan, parent involvement may include regular check-ins with your child's therapist, participation in specific sessions, or dedicated parent training.
What Is Parent Training?
Parent training is available as a standalone service or as an adjunct to your child's individual therapy. It is designed to give caregivers practical, evidence-based tools to support their child's treatment goals at home.
Through parent training at Wellness Associates, you can expect to:
- Learn strategies to support your child in using the skills they are building in therapy
- Develop effective approaches to managing challenging behaviors
- Recognize and reduce patterns that may unintentionally reinforce anxiety or distress
- Find space to address your own stress and caregiver burnout
Parenting a child with emotional or behavioral challenges is demanding. Parent training gives you a place to get support for yourself, not just tools for your child.

No referral is needed. You can contact us directly to schedule a free consultation.
Can my child be seen even if they're resistant to therapy?
Resistance is common, especially in children with anxiety or OCD. Our clinicians are experienced in working with children who are hesitant, and we take the pace of treatment seriously. We are happy to discuss this during your initial consultation.
Will I be involved in my child's sessions?
Parental involvement is something we value and actively support. The structure of that involvement depends on your child's treatment plan and will be discussed with their clinician.
